K4 Kitchens

K4 Kitchens have designed, supplied and installed kitchens across Canterbury and east Kent since 1999. The distinction matters: they are not a fitting service that assembles someone else's cabinets. They design the kitchen, supply it, and manage the whole job through to the final clear-up, with their own employed fitters and their own trades.

Someone planning a new kitchen is usually weighing up a national kitchen company against a local one, and wants three things answered before they ring anybody: what a kitchen like theirs is likely to cost, who will actually be in their house doing the work, and whether the people before them were happy. The site had to answer all three, on a phone, and make the complete service obvious rather than leaving K4 to be mistaken for a fitter.

A WordPress site arranged around those questions rather than around the company. The home page states the offer in one line, design, supply and installation fully managed, and the pages behind it deal with costs, pricing, the step-by-step customer journey from first call to handover, before-and-after transformations, and the towns across east Kent they cover.

Two small plugins built for them, both edited from the WordPress dashboard and usable on any page through a shortcode:

A reviews carousel that shows their Checkatrade reviews, so the proof sits next to the claim on whichever page needs it.

A video carousel for walk-throughs of finished kitchens, playing in a lightbox without sending anyone off to YouTube.

Hosted and looked after by us, with backups, updates and monitoring handled.

A visitor can work out what K4 do, what their kitchen is likely to cost, how the job runs week by week and what previous customers thought, without having to make an enquiry to find out. The enquiries that do come in are from people who already understand the service and the likely price.

The site is quick on a phone, which is where most of this looking happens, and K4 can add a new review or a new video themselves in a couple of minutes.
